Shane Siwik is being nominated for the Hobey High School Character Award. Shane has played varsity hockey for all four years for John Champe High School. As Captain for the 23-24 season, he showcased his leadership, character and passion for success. Shane has led his team to the NVSHL State Provisional Championship game this season, by providing confidence and encouragement to a very young team. Shane’s selfless play allows him to support his team in whichever roll is needed both on and off the ice. As a forward, Shane does all he can to ensure his teammates work together to create as many scoring opportunities as possible. Shane understands with a young team it is important to fill in any position when necessary and has played over a third of this season in a defensive capacity. Shane’s character and passion propel him both on and off the ice. He loves and respects his coaches and teammates and has a welcoming and encouraging personality. Off the ice, Shane understands the importance between sports and academics and has received the NVSHL All-Acedemic Award all four years.
