Sam Paulik has exemplified character traits that embodied those that represent the essence of the Hobey Baker Award…… Teamwork, Dedication, Integrity, Exceptional Play, Humility, and above all, Character.

His on the ice accomplishments included 18 goals, 15 assists resulting in a total of 33 points and a +/- rating of 39 and one of the lowest total penalty minutes of the team (2 PIM) during the 2022/2023 season… all of which place him in the top of team rankings.

He has demonstrated a passion for the game, put the team first, played hurt in many occasions and showed insight and intelligence for the game that has grown over his 4 years with Abington. He was present and worked hard at every practice during the past season.

Paulik has demonstrated and uses his aptitude for the game of hockey by volunteering his time with the Abington Middle School program and teaching those who are still in the early stages of their hockey journey. Paulik is a player who is transitioning from a student of the game to a trusted instructor and eventual mentor.

Most notably, Sam was voted by the team’s leaders as an impact player due to his “energy and passion he had no matter who Abington played”.
