Sam has had a difficult time lately, his father, Steve Hoffer, passed away late last year. Steve was very much engaged with youth hockey having been the go to sports photographer for many years for nearly every hockey team in CO.

Sam has stayed focused and been a great person on and off the ice throughout this very trying time.

He has maintained his GPA as well as turning up for every game and practice, and been a great support to his mother.
