Ryan has always been the consummate team player, he has always put team before self and has always looked to help out his fellow teammates whether on or off the ice. Although dealing with a serious illness in his sophomore and junior years, he only missed a single Oakdale practice due to injury. He has always striven to make his team better and has done whatever was asked of him without complaint. He has played with dedication, integrity and distinction. As a sportsman, he has only received six penalty minutes in his entire varsity career and even became a Certified Referee so that he would have a better understanding of the world’s greatest game. He has been selected as an MSHL Academic All-star in each year in which he was submitted and maintains a GPA of 3.89. Although playing travel hockey at elite levels through the years, he decided to leave travel hockey to concentrate on Oakdale his senior year and as Team Captain, has led his team to an outstanding varsity season. Ryan follows a distinguished list of prior Oakdale leaders that have received this prestigious award. Ryan will begin a dual degree program at Towson University majoring in physics and mechanical engineering in the fall.
