Ryan has been with the Icehounds Organization for 4 years.  During this time, I have watched Ryan grow into a nice young man. Ryan maintains a 3.5 GPA, is a member of the Carmel High School Key Club, and has participated in Pink Ribbon Foundation fundraiser for breast cancer survivors.  I have also received an unsolicited letter from one of Ryan’s teachers who came to watch play, who stated how much of a pleasure it is to have Ryan in class.

In addition to his community service, Ryan was elected Captain by the players this season.  Ryan is the first one at the rink for practice, leads in the team drills, and is one of the last players off the ice after practice.  Ryan has worked hard over the last couple years to become a very good hockey player and leader.  Ryan rarely takes penalties, plays hard between the whistles, respects his opponents, works hard every shift, and shows up to practice and games even when he is sick or hurt.

For these reasons, I believe that Ryan deserves consideration for the Hobey Baker Award. Ryan is the Captain of our team and exhibits sportsmanship and leadership qualities every time he comes to the rink for Icehounds practices and games.
