I am entering my second year as a Chaparral Varsity coach, this year will be my first year as the head coach. I am nominating RJ Yusko as a Hobey Baker nominee. I have coached midget AA club hockey previously and know/coached a handful of players on the Chaparral team, but RJ was a new player I had never met before (last year) and can’t say enough about his personality, leadership abilities and character. His attitude and competition level is bar none, and in my eyes he is still eager and willing to learn when it comes to being a student of the game and is one of the most coachable players I have been around. He has become an incredible leader since I have known him and I see a number of exceptional qualities he presents both on and off the ice.
