Riley is a player who tried out as a freshman and did not make the varsity team. We are a small school who are combined with another small school, Alexanader, where he attends. We do not have a JV program. Riley tried out again as a junior and made the team, although he did not see very much ice time last year he continued to work hard every day and never complained. His parents said he was just happy to be a member of the team. He is now a senior and is seeing more ice but not what you would call a regular shift. However he is only working that much harder and has become a very positive vocal leader in the locker room and on the ice. He is not the captain but does a great job of speaking and saying the right things when it is needed. Riley has done a great job and is a very deserving student/athlete of the Hobey Baker High School Character.Award
