Peter was selected for his selflessness, enthusiasm, positive attitude and commitment to the team. As a three sport athlete, Peter has been with us for three seasons and every year has brought a positive attitude along with a desire to improve each and every day. He is the prime example of putting the team first and is simply happy to be at the rink each and every day. Whatever it is that we ask of him, is done with excitement and met with a smile. He just loves being on the team and around his teammates. In addition to his unique makeup of qualities, Peter is an excellent student, tackles multiple sports and gives back in the community. In his schooling, Peter has a grade point average of 92.7 and has made various honors societies the past two years including social studies, science, mu alpha theta as well as the national honor society. He plays lacrosse in the spring, hockey in the winter and football in the fall where he was just awarded the Louis J. Caputo Scholarship award this past season. In addition to holding two jobs, Peter has managed to give back to the community for over a decade volunteering with the New City Fire Department. All of these accolades and qualities are the reason why we feel Peter Serra is more than deserving of the Hobey Baker High School Character Award from Clarkstown from this year’s team.
