Parker was a three-year varsity player for us. He came up through the ranks, starting as a sophomore who saw little ice time, growing and working on his skills, and eventually becoming a defenseman we relied on in all situations. His skill and knack at both ends of the ice became an instrumental part of our team’s success this year. As impressive as his on ice ability was his seemingly always positive attitude. He certainly knew when to buckle down but could always put a positive spin on things. He led by example but also had the ability to speak up when needed; and when he did, the team listened. Parker is a prime example of what can happen when a player works hard and commits himself to improving everyday and doing what’s best for the team.
