Nico has played hockey for over 13 years and has always demonstrated the qualities of putting his team before his own accomplishments. As the captain of the team and and Alternate on the his club team, he was one of the key players that helped his team through the adversity of losing a player to a broken neck in January.
He is one of the key people insuring that the injured player was visited at the hospital and continues to see team mates at home. They are keeping him in the loop both personally and through social media so that he continues to be part of the team.

Of all the kids I have coached over the past 20 years, none have enjoyed the game of Ice Hockey more than Nico. He has fun with not only his teammates, but also his coaches, and to an extent the opposing team. His playfulness on the ice could be mistaken for a lack of intensity, when in fact Nico is as competitive as anyone on our team.
