Nicholas “Nickâ€_x009d_ Lober embodies the spirit of Hobey Baker. He has been playing hockey since he was a young boy and immediately took to the position of goalie. Having started so young and knowing his passion for being in the net, his skills rapidly increased as he grew up season after season playing in the Prince William and Potomac Patriots hockey clubs. Upon reaching the high school level of competition he excelled as a freshman and soon became a seasoned veteran goalie playing for Osbourn Park High School for three seasons and Colgan High School for his senior year. All four years Nick was nominated for an All Star goalie position with the Northern VA Scholastic Hockey League. Nick also balanced his goal tending with being a part time USA hockey certified referee and he’s also an accomplished baseball player. In addition to his busy sports and recreational background, Nick has earned academic distinction in the NVSHL throughout his high school tenure by continually achieving quarterly GPA’s over 3.5. As the sole senior on his Colgan team during his last season of high school play, he mentored his younger teammates and added a level of maturity and experience for all of them to emulate and follow. He is extremely polite, personable, a pleasure to coach, and his contagious smile is a reminder of how much he loves the game of hockey.
