Nick is a four year veteran of Assabet Valley’s ice hockey program and during this time has been one of the most hard working and dedicated players ever to wear AV Blue and Gold on the ice. He is a young man who gets it in relation to always putting the team first in any situation. A marginal player in his first two years, Nick worked extremely hard to carve out a niche for himself at the varsity level during his junior and senior years. His ability to absorb coaching for any assignment at any position was admired and appreciated by the coaching staff; he always embraced criticism as a constructive tool. This year Nick was elected co-captain by his teammates and thrived in the leadership role on a very young, inexperienced team. He was a solid, well liked, dependable, and trustworthy teammate whose positive character traits were readily recognized by those with whom he interacted. Nick’s receiving The Hobey Baker High School Character Award is the fitting culmination to his dedicated, four year journey through high school hockey!
