Mitchell Roberts
2017 | Wisconsin | BOYS
Chequamegon/Phillips | Team SEaL | BOYS
Mitchell broke his collarbone in a scrimmage a week before the season was to start. He needed surgery and now has a plate and 12 screws holding it in place. It might seem strange to select someone who has not played in a game this year but the character that Mitchell has throughout his injury is tremendous. He has remained a captain on the team and has attended all the games as well as the majority of practices. Even though he is still unable to compete, he is constantly encouraging and cheering on his fellow teammates, and has actually almost became a coach trying to get the most out of each and every player. He is a tremendous asset and positive influence on the team whether he is on or off the ice. Some players after a season ending injury may have just quit but Mitchell showed exceptional sportsmanship and true team work and has remained a consistent and vital member of our team.
