.  Michael has been an extraordinarily dedicated student, athlete and contributor to the St Mary’s community throughout his four years here. Michael’s commitment to excellence and well-roundedness are apparent, and in recognition of these qualities,  I believe he embodies the characteristics of the preeminent candidate for the Scholar-Athlete Award.    

Michael has certainly excelled academically during his high school years, earning Academic Honors. His course load has always been among the most difficult, as Michael has consistently been enrolled in Honors and Advanced Placement classes where available, Michael has consistently excelled with 4.0 average.  Clearly, Michael has the genuine qualities of a scholar that I believe make him more than worthy of recognition.  
I can also personally attest during his high school years as a Varsity player he has become one of the best all-around player, Michael never said no to any position he was asked to play whether it was forward or  defensive he  a true leader, play maker and fierce competitor with self-control.  Michael has truly displayed his ability as an athlete on the ice, but also as a leader off the ice and he showed the qualities of determination, strength and sincerity, the qualities all coaches want to see their player’s exhibit.
Michael has shown throughout his high school years that dedication to hard work, integrity and respect to team mates and others on and off the ice which makes him a fine leader and a model citizen.
