Micah Kranzler truly exemplifies all of the values that embody the Hobey Baker award.
Micah’s ability to collaborate effectively with teammates showcases his commitment to the collective success of the team and always has a team first mentality. His hard work and perseverance demonstrate his commitment to excellence in his sport. Be it on or off the ice, winter or summer, Micah is always working his craft. He and his family live just down the street from me and it’s not uncommon to see Micah out shooting pucks all summer long. One of the key values of this award is integrity, and Micah always maintains honesty and strong moral principles which are essential in sports, and for the 6 months a year I spend with him, he certainly embodies this value. Not only is Micah a great person, but he also plays with exceptional skill, and his skills on the ice contribute significantly to his team’s success, and forces others around him to be better. Despite his talents, his modesty reflects a great character trait, valuing the contributions of others over personal accolades. These qualities not only make him a strong candidate for the Hobey Baker Award but also inspire others in the hockey community.
