I have had the privilege to coach McCabe for the last 4 years as a member of our hockey at Apple Valley High School. During this time he displayed a tireless work ethic and a team first attitude both on the ice and in the classroom. His tremendous competitive nature has helped him become a positive leader among his peers both on and off of the ice. For these reasons, he has been voted to serve as a captain during his senior season for the hockey team.  Those attributes have also led to success in the classroom.  He has been an academic award winner in each of the past 3 years, as the team member with the highest GPA.  McCabe has also been very active in other activities at Apple Valley High School. He is a member of our National Honor Society (NHS), math team, attended numerous leadership conferences, and is a member of our Development Psychology Class, in which he is responsible for teaching drug prevention/education to 6th grade students in our school district.
