Max has been a force on and off the ice for our program since his arrival to campus three years ago. In my 22 years of working with the varsity hockey program I can’t think of another player who was more valuable to the team on the ice and such a positve presence and leader off the ice. He carried the team on many occassions through his play in the net, and was never critical of those around him. When he shared thoughts about strategies in the locker room on how we could improve in a given game, he would always include what he could do better. As far as leadership goes, Max was the one everyone looked up to. His leadership was on display daily, as he was inclusive of all and made time for everyone. The player that played a majority of the game, and the player that never touched the ice during the game were always treated equally by Max. We were extremely lucky to have him as a player and leader, as he raised the bar very high for those coming into the program with regards to on ice play and leaderhip/behavior off the ice. Max will be sorely missed by our program and our school.
