Mateusz (Matt) is a young man who exhibits character, integrity in the way he carries himself. For the past few years Matt has demonstrated a quiet and unassuming role on the team. As a backup goalie he has not logged a tremendous amount of game time. That has not stopped him from becoming an integral part of the team. His calm, quiet demeanor provides leadership for younger members of the team and acts as a calming influence in difficult situations for veteran players. Among other traits his unique and dry sense of humor stands out…always ready to add a bit of levity to difficult games. He has a way of supporting his teammates with encouraging comments and always seems to know what to say when.  As an individual he has worked tremendously hard to improve himself – goals he accomplished. Making him an example of hard work, dedication and perseverance…. Leadership by example. Additionally, his work in the classroom does not go unnoticed by the coaches. It is clear that he is student who pursues higher intellectual challenges.
