Mae Grandy exhibits wonderful leadership characteristics both on and off the ice. As a Captain of the Orono High School Girls Hockey Team she leads by example with her hard work ethic, positive attitude, respect for others, and support for her teammates. Mae is somebody who will advocate for her teammates, speak up for what she believes in, and pick others up when they need it most. As a leader she exemplifies what it means to be a team player and always gives 100% in everything she does. It is a privilege to coach Mae and we believe she is an excellent candidate for the Hobey Baker Award as she wholeheartedly embodies all of the characteristics that make the game of hockey so special.
