This is my first season coaching Lucio. Our local organization (Triad) did not have enough players to field a u18 team so we had to combine with players from Roanoke and Lynchburg, Lucio was one of these players.

At first, Lucio was the quietest player on the team. It was hard to get even a few words out of him. He was quiet but a hard worker. He has one of the best shots on the team, but early on he refused to shoot. I asked him why and he just said I dont like to score. WHAT?

As the season went on Lucio has opened up. Hes easily one of the most skilled players on the team. Hes humble. Hes coachable. Hes still quiet, but when he does say something its meaningful. He never has a bad word to say about any of his teammates. Hes finally decided to shoot, and score.

When he scores you can see the smile on his face from across the rink. Hes out there having fun playing his last season of youth hockey, and thats all we can ask for. He loves this game and he only wants to work to get better.
