I am honored to be writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Lindsey Angst. I first met Lindsey in May 2017 after I introduced myself to the new Lourdes Girls Hockey Team as their new head coach. It was only three months later Lindsey was named one of our first two captains of our program in our inaugural season. Lindsey was named a captain earlier than anticipated; however, it was an easy decision to make as Lindsey took the initiative in organizing team events, integrated our younger athletes with our core group of older girls, and assisted in the selection of equipment, jerseys, and many other items months before the season was to start. This commitment to our program was recognized by all of our young women and coaching staff, which is why she was selected as a captain so early.

As a first time head coach, it has been a privilege to have a captain like Lindsey assist in delivering the messages of our coaching staff, while also demonstrating the characteristics and qualities of a truly good person and great leader, on and away from the ice. Lindsey excels in the classroom and makes her academics a priority while being involved in many other activities. She is selfless in her actions, putting others and their success ahead of her own.

Lindsey has goals and ambitions to be a successful individual, and her path of a college education will assist in leading her to a successful career. Her character, personality, and qualities she presents with will get her to where she would like to be. She has exemplified everything we could’ve asked for as a leader for our hockey program, but has also gone above and beyond expectations of what it means to be a captain.
