As a freshman, Laney was a part of the initial Militia Girls program and has grown into an exemplary student-athlete. Her tough, gritty, and competitive play coupled with her unwillingness to ever give up and her academics have set the stage for her to be a strong leader for our young group this season. She doesn’t show up for only herself, but every time she hits the ice, team bench, or locker room strives to make it the best environment possible for all of her teammates. For all of these reasons, Laney has earned the respect of the coaching staff and why she was selected as the 2019 Hobey Baker award winner from our program.
