Kathryn was a founding member of Washtenaw United in the 2020-21 season. She is consistently in our top performers on the ice, but, more importantly, she has been a leader off ice since the inception of the program. This year, her senior year, she is also the Team Captain – an honor voted on by the players and agreed to by the coaching staff. Kathryn consistently demonstrates qualities that make her an effective team leader. She is good at explaining complex game situations and needed adjustments to her teammates. She leads the pre-game activities of the team and ensures that all the players are engaged in off-ice events. Post-game she is our team’s best cheerleader and initiated (and decorated) the hard hat award that players give one another for that day’s hard work. Off ice, she is an accomplished photographer and avid music lover. She uses those talents to ensure her teammates have a sense that they have been seen and heard. We would not be the team we are today without her constant positive input.
