Kasey Pierz / East Catholic High School | Storm |

Kasey Pierz is a senior defender from East Catholic High School. Since she first made out team as a freshman, she has demonstrated herself as a high character individual, who is driven by her desire for team success over personal accolades. As a senior, as a testament to her integrity and work ethic, Kasey was a unanimous choice by her teammates and the coaches to serve as one of our two team captains. Her leadership style is inclusive and inspiring. Under her leadership, our team, made up of 50% underclassmen, has been empowered to grow, learn and succeed. She is the definition of coachable, and often takes the lead in making suggestions on how our D-Corps can practice and collaborate better. Kasey has demonstrated the strength of character to handle even the few uncomfortable personnel team issues that have arisen during her captaincy. She is also well known in our league not only for her excellent defensive play, but also for her sportsmanship. I consider her our best team ambassador. She is also the epitome of a team-first player. Kasey is the team’s all-time blocked shot leader, demonstrating not only the will do to what is necessary to win, but also a fearlessness that is inspiring to her teammates. Away from the rink, Kasey was Captain of the East Catholic Field Hockey team, she is a member of the National Honor Society, and outside of school she is a volunteer a tutor. I nominate Kasey Pierz for the High School Character Award with out hesitation. She is well deserving of this recognition and award.
