As the hockey coach at Matignon High school, I have the privilege of working closely with Jared.  Right from the start, Jared showed me his commitment and drive for success.  He is one of the key leaders on the team and he has embraced this role with a passion.  He made sure all of the underclassmen felt like they were part of the team from the very beginning.  Jared’s personality drew the underclassmen to him. He was glad to show them the proper way to work out and offer advice if they had any questions.  Jared also organized team events to further team bonding.  I have always been able to count on Jared to deliver the appropriate message to his teammates.
In addition, Jared has been a model student/athlete at Matignon.  His work ethic in the classroom has been exceptional.  This past term Jared achieved First Honors while playing varsity golf for Matignon and playing on a select hockey team.  He has clearly demonstrated that he has the strong desire to succeed academically.  Part of my job is to communicate with my player’s teachers to see how each player is doing.  All of Jared’s teachers gave him an outstanding report and were glad to have him in their classroom.
In my almost 20 years of coaching, I have worked with a variety of young adults.  Jared represents to me a person who is highly motivated and will be a valuable member on his next step towards college.  He has made a strong impression on me and I can envision him being a leader in his chosen profession.
