Irelynn exemplifies the very character, excellence, and love for the game that define the Hobey Baker legacy. As a four-year varsity player and team captain, she leads not only through her skill, but through her unwavering commitment to her teammates and to doing things the right way. She is relentless in her work ethic—arriving early to practices, putting in extra time on and off the ice, and refusing to quit until she masters a skill or concept.

Her coachability and hockey IQ stand out daily. She actively brings thoughtful ideas into practice, quickly adapts to new systems or skills, and then helps translate those lessons to her teammates, making those around her better. She has also shown true selflessness by willingly transitioning between offensive and defensive positions whenever the needs of the team require it, embracing each role with the same preparation, accountability, and competitive drive.

Whether encouraging players from the bench, motivating the team in the locker room, or leading by example in high-pressure moments, she consistently elevates the culture of our program. Most importantly, she embodies integrity, sportsmanship, and resilience. She competes with passion and respect, embraces adversity as an opportunity to grow, and never gives less than her best. Her love for the game is evident in her effort, leadership, and selflessness, making her a role model not only for our team, but for our entire hockey community. She represents the true spirit of the Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
