Hailey is in the top 3 kids I have ever coached in my 32 years of coaching high school athletics. Her play as a goaltender is exceptional as shown by her being named 3 time All-State and All-Metro. She is a far better kid and leader however which when you see her play would be hard to believe. She has been a 3 time team captain and has been an absolutely incredible mentor for our younger players. She gives them ride to and from the rink, they go to Hailey with their problems and she has had numerous conversations with them. She takes them under her wing and has been teaching them how to be leaders when her time is here has concluded. She really wants to make sure this team is in a better place when she leaves then when she arrives. To see her interactions and the way players gravitate to her has been incredible. She has a very kind and caring heart for others. There isn’t a measuring stick high enough to match her character. From the day I met her she came up and said Hello Sir, I’m Hailey Hansen She is thankful for everything anyone does for her. I can’t tell you how many teachers have come up and said she is the greatest or one of they greatest students they have ever had in class. She has a work ethic that is second to none. There could not be a more deserving recipient of this award than Hailey Hansen. She exudes Character in all aspects of her life.
