George is a two year varsity hockey player. He is one of our standout players that can play in any role given to him. He is a hardworking player who gives his best at all times during games and practices. For the 15-16 season, George was named an assistant captain by the coaching staff.  George is a high character kid. He is a conscientious, responsible young man who is a role model for the younger team members. Academically he is a 90 student who has challenged himself by taking honors as well as AP classes. George is a member of the school’s National Honor Society as well as the German NHS. Outside of school George volunteers at his local church as part of their youth group. His family has acted as a host family for German exchange students. George also spent two weeks in Germany himself as an exchange student. I can without any doubt nominate George Ciancio for the 2016 Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
