Garrett has been playing hockey since the age of seven. He started at DU Jr Pioneers and played with several players on the Creek Hockey team at a young age. He played the first three years of high school with AAA Club Hockey teams. However he wanted to spend his last year in high school playing for Creek and making the most out of it before college. Garrett also focuses on academics, and has received the CCHS Academic Letter for four years for those students with a GPA of 3.75 or higher. Garrett expects a lot out of himself and drives those around him to step up – go all out, be disciplined and above all good sportsmanship. He plans to evaluate junior hockey options, but for sure will play club hockey at the University of Denver where he will be studying Computer Science.

Garrett is our team captain and is a great quiet leader. Garrett leads by example. He is the last one off the bus, making sure the bus is clean, last one out of the locker room making sure it is clean and is assists coaches when needed. He is also very supportive of his teammates and is the first to congratulate a teammate when things are going well and/or console a teammate when things are not going well. Garrett is truly a leader and deserves to be the Cherry Creek Bruins Hobey Baker Award winner.
