Emily’s dedication, character and leadership continually shine throughout her time with our program. Her dedication to the team is evident every day, whether at practice or a game. Emily is one of the hardest workers on our team. She is always the first to arrive and the last to leave for any team function and consistently leads by example. Her tremendous character is most evident in the way she interacts with others. Emily goes out of her way to make sure everyone feels valued and welcome, especially the younger members of our team. She is also a great presence on the bench and in the locker room. She always supports her teammates with words of encouragement, support or advice when appropriate. Through the typical good and bad times during our season Emily has been able to maintain her focus and positive attitude. We learned early on that we could depend on her to work hard no matter what the situation was. She set clear goals for herself that are always focused on the success of our team first. Emily was voted to be one of our Captains for the second year in a row by her teammates for reasons she displays in her efforts and especially in the way that she treats others.
As a coach of nearly thirty years Emily has helped me truly understand the meaning of dedication, commitment and the value of a team-first attitude.
She has set the bar extremely high for the future players in this program and it is with great privilege that I nominate Emily Thuet.
