Over the past four years that I have worked with Eliza, she has been one of the most driven student athletes that I have ever coached in my 35+ years of high school athletics. Eliza has been a dominant player in RI girls high school hockey for the past 4 years. She is a two time 1st-team All-State Hockey Player and two time 1st-team All-State Tennis Player. She has led both our team and the league in scoring multiple times. But while her statistics are impressive, it is her compete level and work ethic that truly separate her from her peers. She is always willing to do whatever is best for the team and she thrives under pressure. She is an essential component to our team’s success.

While Eliza has always been a leader on our team, this year she has fully embraced this role as one of our captains. She has an array of leadership skills that allows her to morph into a variety of leadership roles. She always leads by example but this year she has grown to be more comfortable working at holding her teammates accountable. She also does a great job of effectively communicating with the coaching staff to keep them apprised of the team’s psyche and mindset. All of these great skills will serve her well in her future endeavors.
