Countdown to Hobey:

Elias Tsakiris

2016 | Maryland | BOYS

Damascus High School | Hornets | BOYS

When it comes to Integrity, positive attitude, coach ability, and outstanding sportsmanship Elias Tsakiris has it all covered.   Although he faces special challenges, he doesn’t let that stop him for doing the things he loves.  I have had the privilege of coaching Elias and have had the opportunity to watch him improve greatly not only as a player but also as a teammate.   He always strives to do the drills in practice correctly and although it may be challenging for him to understand all the directions, he will ask questions to ensure he understands and completes the drill correctly.  He works hard at every practice to improve.   Eilas is the first player to cheer on his teammates after a goal or a big play and is just as excited for them as if he had scored himself.   He had a beautiful goal in his last game on Senior Night and his joy was evident and felt by everyone in the rink.   Elias is a role model for what you can accomplish with hard work and a positive attitude no matter what your challenges or limitations are.

Elias plays for the Cheetah’s Hockey program as well and participates in Community Events with their organization to raise money and awareness for their program.   The Cheetah’s coach recognized his potential as a hockey player and recommended to his parents that he play for the HS team.  His effort, good attitude, outstanding work ethic and family support allowed him to not only play but be a successful contributing member of our team.  He will be greatly missed by the Damascus hockey family and we are honored and privileged to have been able to provide him the opportunity to play HS hockey.
