For 4 years Egan has been the definition of a positive and unselfish teammate. Although Egan rarely gets into a varsity game he is always at practice and team activities to provide encouragement and positive support to the starters and the entire team. As a young man with Asperger’s Syndrome he works very hard everyday to do the things necessary to be his best, fit in as a teammate, and be part of something he loves, playing hockey and being a positive daily supporter for his fellow players. Egan has personally fought through many situations to find a place where he feels he belongs and is valued….Hockey has become that place. His teammates have not only made him comfortable but he knows he belongs as a vital member of the team. He positive outlook and support has also shown his teammates what it means to be tolerant of others and to be appreciative of everyone’s unique talents.
