My character is what I want people to remember me by, not just in the hockey community. I do take a lot of pride in who I am and want to be. I am an honor student with a 3.9/4.0 GPA. I was a part of the National Junior Honor society and a Varsity athlete since 9th grade for Hockey. I also received my Varsity Letter for Lacrosse. I want to be known as a smart responsible respectful person, a polite player and someone who plays the game with integrity and has a strong head on their shoulders. I want to impact the hockey community in a way, that when or if my name is brought up in a conversation, I am recognized for my character, attributes, skill, sportsmanship, demeanor, integrity, leadership, so it’s only good things that are said about me. I believe my character is showing, especially in the hockey community, as I take pride in hearing when a referee, parent or coach has said that they appreciate my level of leadership, play, intensity, focus with great sportsmanship. Also, because if there is an open position to assist with helping younger players, help run a practice with a coach, assist with clinics during the hockey season and summer, I am one of the first players that they look to ask because they know how I act and carry myself, that I am a responsible and respectful player. My character has not only benefited the hockey community but also the non-hockey community in similar ways. I am looked upon as responsible and caring person. I help in class at school and my employer during the summer relies on me when additional duties need to be done. I am willing to spend my time helping someone else, whether its hockey-related or not. I try to be the best person I can be on and off the ice, the only way I can achieve that is by always trying to be a better person.
