This senior player took all the freshman players under his wing all year long. No coach or player had to tell David to be nice spend extra time after games and practices to talk to and teach  these players how to act and play David just did this on his own and most of all he chose to be  a mentor to these young men coming in to our program.What this young man did all year long was incredible . He was not a team captain but just came in and lead by example on his own .This was his team captain or not. He not only was vocal in the locker he was a leader on the ice . He lead the team in points this year and acted as if he was a freshman getting his first points never acting better than anyone on the team .And when this year ended and we lost in overtime in our league playoffs. There was no player who took the loss to heart as David did. With this being said I have never had a easier choice of a Hobey Baker award winner.
