David Childress
2017 | Florida | BOYS
St. Thomas Aquinas | Raiders | BOYS
David Childress has played on the STA ice hockey team for 4 years. He was nominated as one of Saint Thomas Aquinas’ assistant captains for the 2016/17 season. He exceeded any of our expectations by stepping into the main leadership role when called upon without hesitation.
Childress lead the team warm-ups every game, he was the coach liaison with the referees on the ice, and was a leader to the younger players on the team yet still held the seniors accountable. He listened to coaching instructions on and off the ice and has a true passion for the game of hockey.
David has come a long way as a young man and teammate over the past year. With the new coaching staff starting in the summer league, David quickly became the most reliable, dependable, and cooperative player on the team which was a great help to the coaches.
Off the ice David has managed to maintain a very high academic standard as a veritas and AP scholar. He has given over 870 service hours to his community. We wish David the best of luck in his future endeavors as we know it will be one of success.
Congratulations David!
