Superior work ethic:
Daniel gives his “all” personally and academically without question, in every hockey situation. His leadership on and off the ice garners the respect of all players and coaches while he collaborates with the Captains and the Coaching staff on drills, lineups, plays, and competition. His efforts and positive “can-do” attitude elevates each player to a new level of confidence, resilience, and honor. Daniel leads by example with work ethic and determination as his greatest strengths and continues to seek out and resolve challenges in everything he does. This effort has led Daniel to be accepted at both the Naval Academy and Air Force Academy while awaiting acceptance opportunities from Illinois, Michigan and Princeton as he plans to pursue an Electrical Engineering degree.
Exceptional hockey skills:
A four year member of the Atholton Hockey Team, Daniel is an exceptional player as a Defenseman helping out the last 2 years in that position, however, his true calling is playing Forward. Daniel makes things happen, particularly with his speed, agility, and concise stickhandling and is an instant improvement to any hockey situation. Daniel has embraced the Atholton team concept where he has participated in 3 County Championships helping Atholton win 2 of them while sacrificing his personal glory, statistics, and accolades for the betterment of the team.
Team Leadership Characteristics:
Daniel is a Maryland Student Hockey League (MSHL) Academic All-Star for 4 years and a Howard County All-Star the last two years. Daniel has been selected to participate in America’s High School Showcase for Team DC in the Spring of 2015. Throughout high school, Daniel maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA (4.71 weighted). Daniel is very well-rounded and has served as a lead member on the High School robotics team. Competitors respect and challenge him and his team follows his lead in accepting these challenges. Daniel is very serious when it comes to competition and discipline while maintaining the camaraderie and respect of his team and coaches. Daniel has mentored many players on the JV team as well and regularly comes to the JV games in support the future of Atholton Hockey. When possible, Daniel supports special needs hockey through his Tri City Eagle Hockey Club team giving a lot of his personal time for the benefit of others.
