Curtis Rodkey exemplifies all of the aspects of the Hobey Baker Award winner a coach could ask for – coachability, strength of character, integrity, commitment, teamwork, community building and outstanding sportsmanship. Curtis’ hard work set a high bar for the team and then helped the team exceed it with his support and leadership. Equally adept at scoring goals as setting them up with assists, Curtis placed team goals ahead of statistics. Inspired by his example, the entire team focused on team goals instead of individual achievements. He is a leader in the classroom, works tirelessly to grow the game’s next generation of players and fans, and is a pleasure to coach and watch play.
