Cole Cavey is the captain of the Valor Christian High School varsity hockey team. He transferred to Valor beginning his junior year of high school and immediately immersed himself in activities including student government. He is currently the Vice President for Student Athletic Affairs. He is an outstanding student and currently possesses a 3.8 GPA.
As a senior this year, Cole’s contributions to the boys’ hockey program have been considerable. Although he is a defenseman by position, he is a skilled and gifted offensive player. He is the fifth leading scorer on the team. He quarterbacks the top power play unit and is our top penalty killing defenseman. Cole’s playing time averages almost half of the entire game. When necessary, he can play a tough, physical game. He is an excellent leader with strong character. I have no doubt he will be given strong consideration for All-State First Team honors.
Cole’s play is a big reason why the hockey team is currently ranked #2 in the State of Colorado and one of the favorites to win the Colorado State hockey championship.
