It was apparent to the coaching staff from the very first practice that this young man was going to be a stand out player on the team. Stepping up to lead drills when needed, looking out for younger, inexperienced players, respectful and polite, he epitomizes the Hobey Baker Award. His size allows him the opportunity to be an aggressive physical player, yet he shows true sportsmanship and uses physical play only when warranted, not just because he can. As a defenseman, he recorded only 12 penalty minutes the entire season. He is one of the finest young men that I have had the opportunity to coach.
