Charlie Seiler has been part of Victor hockey for the past 4 seasons. His character is absolutely outstanding. He is a strong team leader, a caring teammate, and an outstanding hockey player. Charlie is the definition of putting the team’s needs ahead of his own. He continues to amaze us as coaches as he improves the chemistry of our team daily. His role often changes weekly for the good of the team. He is an individual who truly understands this and realizes the impact he has in making everyone around him better. Charlie never misses practices. He will attend sick, injured, or hurt. He leads by example day in and day out. He is always focused and never misses a detail. As a result, he maximizes his ability to be a great hockey player, but more importantly, he never leaves a rock unturned where he can be a better person.
One of his greatest traits is how he holds himself accountable. Charlie will be the first one to take responsibility when things do not go as planned (even if he is not directly involved). He holds himself to the highest standard and realizes the impact this has when he takes responsibility to hold himself and the team accountable. This is often not the case with many young student-athletes today.
I couldn’t be more proud of Charlie and the impact he has made on our program. He makes everyone around him better every day! I recommend Charlie for this prestigious award!!
