Southwest Christian Richfield High School | Stars | BOYS
?Caleb Carlson is a young man of character and a leader in every capacity. As captain of the Southwest Christian-Richfield Stars hockey team, he set the example for his teammates both on and off the ice. He never missed a practice or game and often drove his younger teammates to and from practice. His tireless work ethic was an inspiration to his team and increased the level of play of those around him. Win or lose, Caleb kept a positive attitude, supported his teammates, and showed respect towards his opponents, coaches, and the referees. He constantly worked hard to better himself and his teammates, spending hours shooting pucks at the park and organizing outdoor hockey games with his teammates before or after practice. In the classroom, Caleb set the example by completing honors classes, earning 28 college credits, and maintaining a 3.71 cumulative GPA. His career as a student athlete extends beyond hockey. As a three-sport varsity athlete (hockey, football, baseball), Caleb was also a captain of the football team and earned all-district honors at quarterback. He has applied and received recommendations by both his senator and congressmen to attend the U.S. Naval Academy next fall. Caleb Carlson is an outstanding leader, loyal teammate, and a perfect candidate for the Hobey Baker Character Award.
