Brian Brusco has been a four-year ice hockey player the for the Xavier Knights. Over this short period, our coaching staff had the pleasure to watch a Freshman boy mature and develop into a responsible young man. Brian’s consistent work ethic is evident in the classroom as well as on the ice. He is always conscious of his actions and conducts himself accordingly. Brian has earned the respect of his teammates and has been recognized for his efforts. Brian Brusco doesn’t draw attention to himself and is always first to applaud the efforts of others. His unselfishness is well recognized especially when he chooses to put the needs of others ahead of his own. Brian’s accomplishments are summed up and noticed when someone approaches him seeking assistance or information and watching Brian go to extremes to accommodate the person to the fullest extent. His make-up and persona are very unique when compared to other individuals his age and for this he has achieved so much that makes him a special person. He is an asset to whoever he comes in contact with and realizes the concept of teamwork beyond individualism. Brian’s overall make-up is exemplary, and the Xavier Knights Hockey team are proud to honor him with being selected to receive of the 2023 Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
