Brayden Daubenmeir embraces all the values that the game of Hockey teaches, in fact he brings some those values to the rink each day . He works hard each day to move up on the defensive depth chart and gain the trust of the coaching staff. Despite a lack of playing time he continues to give his beat effort without complaint .
Brayden has been a leader in our hockey program both on and off the ice serving as an assistant captain for two years as well as a service project leader all four years he has been in the program . An excellent student ,Brayden excels in the classroom . He is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Science Honor Society . He has a 4.1 GPA while taking 14 Honors , AP and College Credit classes . In addition he is a member of the Medical Club , the Environmental Club as well as the Key/Service Club .
In the community , Brayden has offered over 300 service hours to such activities the Special Hockey program as well as being a Library Buddy and tutor .
Embracing the values that hockey teaches is best described by one of Brayden’s teachers when he was presented with the Values ,Beliefs Outcomes Award . She wrote the following : Braden consistently demonstrates strong character.He is marked by tremendous integrity in his work in the classroom and in his approach to life .He cares deeply about people including the students around him . He is conscientious as well .He shows a rare maturity and understanding of how to treat those around him with respect .
Brayden Daubenmeir is most worthy of Upper Arlington’s 2023 Hobey Baker Character Award .
