I have had the opportunity to know and coach Brad Shea for the past two years. I have been coaching hockey in the WNY area for nearly 20 years and Brad has been one of my most enjoyable players to have been fortunate to coach. He was selected captain of the Starpoint’s varsity hockey team because of his special attitude and leadership qualities around his teammates. Playing sports most of his life has taught Brad good sportsmanship and respect, while passionate to strive always to his best. Being a leader of his team has taught Brad many life experiences and has prepared him for his next step in life, attending college at RIT for computer science engineering. He is a role model and leader that any coach would want on his team; he inspires and pushes his teammates to excel to do their best. Brad also motivates and supports his teammates like a strong leader should and is definitely a problem solver who looks at the whole picture and also listens to ideas or thoughts prior to expressing his own opinion.
Brad is the type of person that is going to make a difference in life, not just for himself, but also for everyone around him. His time volunteering with SABAH program, helping with Boxes of Love Day of Caring, excelling in his academics and being top 1/3 in his senior class, shows how Brad is committed to his community and school work. Being a leader is not easy, but the qualities of life that Brad has been taught while growing up makes him a remarkable person. Having a strong attitude and being determined to achieve his goals has helped Brad to be very supportive and positive.
