The Leo Lions drafted Ben when he was a sophomore in high school. It was clear from day one that this very tall kid had lots of natural athletic ability, but what was even more evident was Ben’s polite, easy-going personality. He has always been willing to play anywhere on the ice that he was asked and brought a positive attitude to every practice and game. Determination and drive have allowed Ben to grow stronger each year as a hockey player resulting in him being invaluable to the team. He is a silent leader who leads by example, always supporting and encouraging his teammates and respecting his coaches and officials. Ben embodies competitive spirit and skill, while still valuing hard work and clean play. Every time he is on the ice it is clear to see that he truly loves the game and plays it with heart and soul. It has been a true pleasure to coach Ben along his hockey journey, and I have no doubt that he has a bright future ahead of him filled with many successes.
