Annika Torbenson
2024 | Minnesota | GIRLS
Century/John Marshall | Panthers | GIRLS
If I were putting together a team, Annika Torbenson would be among the first I’d choose. And when choosing who to lead that team, she would be at the top of that list as well.
Annika is a remarkable young woman. She is a strong leader, quiet most of the time, but speaks up when needed. She is a relentless competitor, a good sport, and a positive role model. I am repeatedly amazed at the effort, passion, and fearlessness with which she plays.
Annika makes an effort to ensure all of her teammates are included and their varied contributions valued. After every game, she is sure to call out some positive contributions from teammates that others may not have even noticed. Annika elevates her team’s performance by modeling and encouraging others. She has played an essential part in making our co-op feel like one team. Her teammates respect and adore her.
Annika has led volunteer efforts to support our broader hockey community, including our Youth hockey association, the Mustangs (sled hockey), and the Raiders (Adapted Floor Hockey). She has also worked as a referee.
Annika has also led several other volunteer efforts to support community agencies in need, including the Ronald McDonald House, NAMI, Family Services, Cardinal of Minnesota, and the John Marshall, John Adams, and Kellogg Resource Community Rooms.
I feel fortunate for the time we have worked together. I know Annika’s abilities, leadership skills, and character will help her be successful at whatever she chooses to do.
