Annie is the perfect fit for receiving the Hobey Baker Character Award. Her dedication to her own moral excellence was a big reason for our success this season. Her firmness in her beliefs rubbed off on many of our younger players and she backed it up by living it every day. She exemplifies all of our team’s Core Values so perfectly. She has fun and truly enjoys the challenge of competition and improving every day. She is the best teammate – always supporting and encouraging her teammates to be better. She holds herself and her teammates accountable and that standard has been set very high in our program. Lasly, she has a relentless pursuit of perfection. She knows she will never be perfect, nor will her teammates but she has embraced that concept and keeps chasing that perfection. She is kind, caring and constructive in the way she speaks to everyone. It simply makes you want to be better and her competitive nature, naturally leads by example. She NEVER complains and is always thinking of her team first. One definition of Character I found states, Moral excellence and firmness, earned through one’s actions. This fits Annie perfectly. She’s steadfast in her beliefs and acts on them everyday.
