Angelo Altavilla, is a three-year letter winner for the Lakeville North hockey and baseball team. Angelo accepted a baseball scholarship at the University of Nebraska for the 2015-16 Season. An accomplished athlete leading the defensive core in points the passed three seasons and helping the North hockey team to the State Semi-Finals a year ago. Angelo is a three-year starting Shortstop, has played in two State Tournaments, and holds three Minnesota State Records (12 RBIs, 2 grand slams, and 3 total Home-runs in one game). He has been nominated by the Minnesota Old Dutch Student Athlete of the Week, St. Paul Pioneer Press and Star Tribune Player of the Week, and is the Under Armour Pre-season All American.  Altavilla has received honors as the Defensive Player of the Year, All Conference, and All Metro. As much as Angelo excels on the blue line and the baseball diamond he also performs equally as well in the classroom, holding a 3.8 GPA, is on the LNHS Honor Roll, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and chosen to the Athletic Leadership Conference (South Suburban Conference). Angelo has volunteered his time to the Lakeville Hockey Association as a hockey mentor for three seasons, as well as Feed My Starving Children, the “Miracle League,” and is a member of the Prince of Peace Senior High Ministry. Altavilla’s determination and dedication in the classroom and his community has translated well to his positive leadership qualities on the playing field. Angelo is a charismatic leader and exemplifies these qualities through his strong and competitive work ethic. He is a well-respected student athlete and excels at every level of competition.
