Andrew Lapel is the perfect representation of what this award stands for. Andrew is very coachable as seen through his hard work and willingness to accept and embrace whatever role is required of him to help the team succeed on a given day. He quietly goes about his business, and puts the team before himself. He also frequently assists his teammates better understand systems, plays, or drills. His sportsmanship is consistently seen in his style of play, which is always within the boundaries of the rules. As an example of this in 60+ games this season he has taken only two penalties. Andrew plays with integrity and a positive attitude, he respects the game and his opponents. From a community perspective Andrew is a model student-athlete. Andrew’s GPA is consistently above 4.0, he is a Cabinet Member in Student Government and a very active Group Leader in the Carmel High School Dance Marathon Fundraiser for Riley Children’s Hospital. Andrew is very deserving of this award.
